Jennifer Love Hewitt visited ‘The View’ Wednesday where she talked about an ex who cheated on her for a year and a half. She didn’t identify the cheater but said she found out when she checked his email.

“I’m really happy I did it and I would do it again,” she said. “I was really curious, I knew in my gut that something was going on. I checked, and I found that out of the almost two year relationship, for a year and a half, he had been having relationships not just with one woman, but a few.”

Jennifer said she went online because she already suspected him of cheating.

“He was caring more about his appearance, [he started] to work out more… where is that coming from?”

Jennifer has dated Carson Daly, John Mayer and professional kayaker Brad Ludden. She was engaged to Scottish actor Ross McCall from 2007 to 2009, and recently broke up with Jamie Kennedy after one year together (so judging by the length of the relationship he is probably not the cheater.)

After twenty years in showbiz, Jennifer Love Hewitt has learned a few lessons about taking her appearance to the next level.

“Elizabeth Taylor taught me that after you get ready for the day – after you do your hair and makeup – you’re supposed to take a hot bath because it brings out your inner glow,” the Ghost Whisperer star tells me. “I always do that before I go out.”

Turning 31 inspired her to change up her style.

“I’m trying to be a bit more glam this year — even my lingerie choices tend to be a little more glamorous, just from within,” she admits. “I tend to go pretty comfortable. I’m a jeans and t-shirts kind of girl. I dress casual for comfort.”

The actress has been linked to Jenny McCarthy’s ex John Asher, 39, after amicably splitting from co-star Jamie Kennedy.

The Day I Shot Cupid author shares her advice for single gals in NYC and beyond.

“Be careful,” she says. “Run for your life. Drink lots of cosmos, go to the spa and have really close girlfriends.”

Last time you were mistaken for another celebrity?
Oh my gosh, I used to get mistaken as Alyssa Milano and Soleil Moon Frye all the time when I was little. I would sign autographs as them [laughs]. I thought it was really cool [laughs]. I was famous as them before I was famous as me [laughs].

Last time you lied?
This morning, when someone asked me if I was tired, and I said no [laughs].

Last time you felt guilty?
Probably when I bought Christian Louboutin shoes. I feel like I should’ve spent that money on maybe a family member or someone else, but I spent it on me [laughs].

Last time you felt envious?
Anytime I see a picture of Gisele Bundchen, because she looks like Gisele Bundchen [laughs]. We all wish we could look like that.

Last time you saw your Kids, Incorporated co-star Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson?
The last time I saw Fergie was on an airplane to Hawaii. It was great. It was awesome. She was sitting there, and I tapped her on the shoulder and we had a big hug, spoke for a moment and then went back to our flights.

Last chore or errand you did?
The last errand I did was right before I made the trip here. I went and got mini hairsprays for traveling.

Last time you spoiled your cat?
My cat, Earl Grey, is spoiled every day. I always make sure there are lots of treats for him.

Last time you felt competitive?
I always feel competitive. I grew up in a family where we’re all very competitive. Healthy, but competitive. I was playing poker, and I felt competitive with my mom [laughs]. I won.

Jennifer Love Hewitt wishes she could walk around naked apart from high heels.

The actress is a huge fan of towering footwear, and finds it hard to walk past a shoe shop without entering. Her favourite designer is Christian Louboutin as she says his shoes make her feel sexier than ever.

“Christian Louboutin shoes are my biggest indulgence,” she said. “I’d wear them and nothing else, if I wouldn’t get arrested!”

Although she loves donning the pricey footwear, Jennifer does feel bad for splashing her cash on heels. She tries not to think about how much each pair costs, saying they are the one treat she allows herself.

“The last time I felt guilty was probably when I bought Christian Louboutin shoes,” she told the American edition of OK! magazine. “I feel like I should’ve spent that money on maybe a family member or someone else, but I spent it on me.”

Jennifer is a huge fashion fan, and works hard to stay in shape so she can wear the latest trends. She admits finding working out hard, and says that like every woman, she isn’t always happy about herself. The 31-year-old often wishes she looked like supermodel Gisele Bundchen, but is learning how to love her own curves.

The star added that if she is having a bad day she can always pretend she is someone else as she so regularly gets mistaken for other celebrities. “I used to get Alyssa Milano and Soleil Moon Frye all the time when I was little,” she laughed. “I would sign autographs as them. I thought it was really cool. I was famous as them before I was famous as me.”

“I just got this machine called the Ab Circle Pro — I ordered it off TV, and I love it!” the 31-year-old Ghost Whisperer star tells UsMagazine.com about the $200 fitness machine that helped her get her flat belly.

She adds: “It’s amazing. It’s probably my best secret!”

What else does the 5-foot-3 actress — who lost 15 pounds last summer — do to stay fit?

For her upper body, she says she does “three sets of 20 push-ups, [dumbbell] flys, bench presses, shoulder presses and bicep curls” three to four times per week. She also does the same amount of lunges and squats before focusing on her core and doing 30-second body planks and a few sets of 20 crunches.

“Usually with my trainer, we also mix in some interval training, like 10 minutes on the treadmill or jumping rope,” she says of her cardio routine. “On days that I can’t get to her, I do the elliptical or the treadmill for 30 minutes or so each time.”

Hewitt isn’t just displaying her svelte figure at the gym. She also ditched her dowdy duds and has begun showing off her curves in body-hugging dresses by Phillip Lim and Herve Leger.

“I’ve kicked up the glam,” the star — who recently split from costar Jamie Kennedy, 39 — tells Us. “You carry yourself differently in things finished with dazzle.”

Best way to get over an breakup? A new hairdo.

After announcing her split from boyfriend (and Ghost Whisperer costar) Jamie Kennedy, Jennifer Love Hewitt has chopped off all her hair. She first debuted the look on St. Patrick’s Day and stepped out again over the weekend.

Hewitt, 31, and Kennedy, 39, confirmed their romance in March 2009. At the time, he declared to Ryan Seacrest, “I’m in love!” and called Hewitt “hot.”

He recently joked about their split on Twitter.

“Kate Winslet, Sandra Bullock and I are all going to have tea later and talk bout relationships. whos [SIC] in?” he wrote. “Pass the scones….”
