“We laugh a lot,” she told Us Weekly about the 27-year-old filmmaker. “He’s hilarious.” We’re happy that she’s happy, but is it too soon to be sharing?

Her last relationship with comedian and Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy was “the happiest I’ve ever been” according to an interview she gave to People magazine last year. She even dedicated her 2010 self-help dating book to him “for being a great partner and my real truth. I love you.”

In the book, The Day I Shot Cupid – Hello, My Name is Jennifer Love Hewitt and I’m a Love-aholic, she expresses her frustration with being constantly labeled a serial dater. “It’s like a bad KICK ME sign on my back. What does it mean? That I date men and kill them? Yes, I have dated a lot, not on purpose, by the way. I would have loved to have met my soul mate in fourth grade and never looked back.”

She thought she found her soulmate in 2005 when she met Scottish actor Ross McCall. The couple dated for two years before getting engaged, but split a little more than a year later. Of that love connection she told People, “it’s the first time I’ve ever been in a relationship where you don’t have to try.”

But we hope this new relationship goes the distance. Ironically enough, Hewitt was first spotted showing off her new man at Dodge’s Rock and Roll Marathon in Los Angeles this past weekend where they ran in the race together. Whatever happens it will make for great material in her next book. That is if she doesn’t tell us about it first.

“We’re crazy!” she joked to Us when asked why they decided to do the race together. “We are really excited about all the charities involved, and we heard the Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon was really fun and just sort of silly and a great way to stay in shape.”

Hewitt, 31, told Us she met Beh “through friends at a dinner party” after splitting with her Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy.

What first attracted him? “Her eyes, her beauty,” Beh told Us.

Beh told Us that he has even read her relationship advice book, The Day I Shot Cupid, which Hewitt told Us she wrote because, “Everybody has been writing about my dating life forever. I decided it was time that I actually gave my own opinions on love and dating and all that stuff.”

Beh’s critique? “It’s very informative. I learned all I needed to know. When I first met her, I really was able to just map out all the things to do and not to do.”

Which was also pretty much the entire concept of The Client List. This instant-classic-schlock Lifetime movie — “inspired by a true story,” of course — had Hewitt playing Samantha, a former Texas homecoming queen, mother of three, married to a former local football hero, who falls into prostitution.

Samantha was shown to be a near-saint: a devoted wife and mom who never even got irritated by her mom, who constantly spouted folksy aphorisms such as, “I could eat a buttered monkey!” (Mom was played by Cybill Shepherd using her Last Picture Show drawl.)

But with hubby unemployed, Samantha, a “licensed massage therapist,” sought employment with The Kind Touch Health Spa, a strip mall joint that she was shocked to discover traded in sexual services. But with the gals running the place keeping up lines of peppery dialogue like, “Drinks and Viagra are on the house!” and “The little blue pills keep us in the black!,” it wasn’t long before Samantha was squirting whipped cream down a client’s spine and asking him what else she could do for him. Pretty soon, she was getting $1,000 tips, buying luxury items for her family, and snorting a little cocaine to please her customers and complete that gingerbread house (well, make that a snow-fueled gingerbread castle) for a school fund-raiser.

In the manner of all such Lifetime productions, The Client List managed to offer cheap thrills (see Samantha in an array of revealing costumes!) while offering moral uplift (see Samantha get arrested, atone for her sins, and reconcile with her husband!).

The Client List even offered the Lifetime version of a surprise ending. A group of local women — many of them wives of the “clients” — stormed Samantha’s house. After offering a preemptive apology, Samantha was amazed to discover that they’d arrived not to condemn her but to get some bedroom tips. (“What do you do that we don’t?”)

Even after her Samantha hauled out a banana for instruction time, executive producer Hewitt managed to sell every bit of this malarkey with her talent for communicating sincerity and charm.

Did I mention that Samantha’s employers gave her the nom du massage of “Brandy,” “’cause you look like you go down real smooth.” Oh, my goodness! Truly, The Client List was the little gift that kept on giving.

Hewitt’s career began in the Disney Channel series “Kids Incorporated” and grew with roles in “Party of Five” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” She starred in CBS’s hit, “Ghost Whisperer.”

The Ghost Whisperer star is convinced women the world over would feel better if they followed her example and threw out their bathroom scales — because she feels far more confident about her body since she did so.

“I don’t have scales any more and I don’t weigh myself,” she said. “I would urge women everywhere to throw out their scales.

“My mom’s like, ‘I’m so proud. You’re pole dancing and you’re going to play a prostitute. Awesome!’” Hewitt, 31, tells Entertainment Tonight. “It’s like, ‘Yeah, what you always dreamed about, mama!’ But you know, it’s a great part.”

Hewitt plays Samantha Horton in the drama, premiering tonight at 9 p.m./ET on Lifetime, about a former homecoming queen who resorts to prostitution to support her family through the recession. Cybill Shepherd stars as Samantha’s mother, Cassie.

“Given where we are economically, it’s an interesting story… this is the most recession-proof business there is!” says Hewitt, who starred in CBS’ Ghost Whisper until it was canceled in May. “It’s really a movie about the human condition, and the heart, and where life can take you.”

“[Samantha] has no choice at the end of the day but to give everything that she can in order to take care of her family,” adds Hewitt. “She really thinks she’s doing the best thing possible for them, and it just gets out of hand. … It takes her on a rollercoaster ride.”

To prep for the role, which she calls “empowering,” Hewitt took pole dancing classes “because it really, really gets you in shape [and] it also really teaches you about your inner sexuality.”

Hewitt, 31, says her character in the movie — a mother and former small-town beauty queen — is left with no other choice.

“Her husband has been injured and out of work; her massage therapy job has been phased out; her kids need braces and their house is about to be foreclosed,” she said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Monday. “So she answers an ad in the paper for a massage therapy position.”

Initially, her character likes the attention.

But “very quickly, her life sort of goes on a downward spiral, and I think she realizes that there was probably more of the attention she was getting than she needed,” said the actress.

After doing the movie, Hewitt said she realized that the reason some women become prostitutes is “two-fold.” Not only is it helping them survive tough economic times, “it’s sort of helping them in their personal lives as well,” she said.

Some women might not be getting the sexual attention they need at home and “are kind of going out and going, ‘Well, we have needs just like men do, and if men can go out and get their needs met, we will too.’” she said. “It’s kind of crazy.”

On Saturday, UsMagazine.com spoke to Hewitt at the AZURE Luxury pool in the Palazzo Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

She called the role her “raciest part” yet.

What else is in the works for the actress?

“Nothing at the moment,” she told Us. “I’m working on some TV stuff, looking into some film stuff, everything like that. Not really sure where I’m going to land just yet.”

Hewitt, appearing on The Wendy Williams Show (via Twirlit) explained that when she went to the premiere, she was wavering in her “Team” loyalty between “Edward” and “Jacob,” and she was excited about the opportunity to take a photograph with Taylor Lautner.

However, the picture didn’t turn out as he expected, and Lautner’s facial expression in it was more of a grimace than a grin. Needless to say, she decided then and there that she was “Team Edward” for good.

Chances are, Taylor Lautner was distracted or caught in between smiles, given his very jovial personality, but it was apparently enough to keep Jennifer Love Hewitt, a self-proclaimed mega-Twilight fan, off the fence.

This is quite the opposite of what Taylor Lautner’s usual persuasion in the Twilight fan world has been since a lot of fans have been drawn to “Team Jacob” by his portrayal of the character.

The 31-year-old actress recently admitted that her mother took her to task for playing sexy ladies and forcing every red-blooded American to notice her body:

“[My mom] was very supportive. But then a week ago she was like, ‘So, let’s review the last year, shall we? For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs in the press. You wrote about your woo-ha in a book and now you’re playing a crack-ho on TV.’ I was like, ‘Yeah…’ So she was like, ‘Can we do an animated movie next? Can you play Cinderella on Broadway or something?’ I was like, ‘OK, I’ll clean it up, right after this one, I promise!’”

The former Party of Five actress will star in the upcoming made-for-TV movie, The Client List, in which she plays a desperate mother who turns into a high-end prostitute to support her family. Bring it on — that’s part of the fun, she says.

“You do root for her and you do judge her, and you love that you judge her and by the end of it, you really forgive her for all that she’s done,” the 31-year-old Hewitt says. “Sometimes the best role models, and the people you should look up to the most, are the ones who actually do make mistakes because they show you how to overcome them.”

The Client List, premiering Monday at 9/8c, is based on the true story of Samantha Horton, a woman who takes a position at a massage parlor only to find herself smack in the middle of a prostitution ring after she and her husband both lose their jobs.

“It really struck me, particularly where we are in the world economically. This is real stuff that people are dealing with,” Hewitt says. “And I loved that, in this, it was about female empowerment. It was really her taking care of her family and I loved her struggle.”

For the role, Hewitt trained by taking pole-dancing classes (she now has a pole in her house for her work-out regimen), but did little other research before filming began.

“I wanted to learn as Sam was learning it and I think it helped me in doing that,” Hewitt says. “This project in particular, I really went on the journey with her because I didn’t do any real research or any preparation. … I really felt for Sam and her story and her struggle.”

It was this emotional journey with Samantha that makes the character, and the film, one of Hewitt’s favorite roles in her 20-plus-year acting career.

“Emotionally, this was one of the hardest things I ever had to do because it was work that I didn’t understand. It was, quite honestly, a world that I was judgmental of before I did the part,” she says. “It was difficult, but it would probably be a tie now between Sam and Audrey [Hepburn in The Audrey Hepburn Story].”

Besides showing her emotional range, the film is also a testament to Hewitt’s personal growth and being “at the right place” in her life to take on this part.

“I’ve had these types of things come around a lot and I never did them because I was like, ‘I couldn’t even act that if I tried. I don’t know that woman yet, I don’t know that part.’ And I do right now, where I am in my life,” she says. “I was ready to be open to a new side of life and see why certain woman do things and find themselves in this situation.”

Looking to the future, Hewitt says she’s still figuring out what to tackle next. Despite Ghost Whisperer’s surprise cancellation in May after five seasons on CBS, she’s says she’s looking at some TV projects as well as film roles. After showing a new side of herself in The Client List, she sounds ready to continue experimenting and jumping between genres.

“Some of the TV stuff I’m looking at is comedy stuff. I think maybe if I do jump in, I’d like to try something a little lighter and maybe not with the one-hour drama schedule,” she says. “But I’m not in a rush to move back into TV right away, and if I do, it will probably be under different circumstances.”

The 31-year-old stars in The Ghost Whisperer – which has just been cancelled after five seasons – playing Melissa Gordon, who can talk to ghosts, and a recent encounter made her question whether it’s more than just a TV show.

Jennifer revealed: “I’ve definitely had some weird experiences – I had something weird happen in my house two weeks ago.”

She explained: “I collect little miniature antique books and I had a bunch of them on this one shelf in my living room and I heard this really loud noise when I was upstairs in my bedroom. I came down and all the books were all over the floor and I was like ‘well that’s weird, but ok maybe… I don’t know’.

“So I gather the books back up and I put them back on the shelf and I go back upstairs and the second I go upstairs I hear this slamming noise again and all the books were on the floor again. I was like, ‘Alright, honestly, I was just with you all day at work, really you’ve got to come home with me too?’

“Then I realised that I was a normal person, me, just an actress, standing in my house, talking to someone who probably wasn’t there and there was obviously like a tilt problem with the book shelf and my books were on the floor and I was thinking it was a ghost and having a conversation with myself.

“I was like ‘maybe I should have a vacation or two?’.”

The 31-year-old plays Melinda Gordon, who is able to speak to dead people, in the hit CBS show – which has just been cancelled after five seasons – and viewers often share their real-life encounters with her.

Jennifer revealed: “I have a lot of very unusual, incredibly emotional experiences with people where people will just come up to me and they’ll be like, ‘Can you just sit with me a second? I have to tell you my story because it had to do with the storyline last Friday night’ and then they’ll just start balling like, in the mall.”

She said: “I’ve had to learn the right thing to say because a lot of them are very emotional and they really need somebody to help. So I sort of have these unofficial medium cards in my purse that I can pass out to people with real medium information on it and I can say ‘why don’t you call this person and they will help you’.”

Set to shoot this summer, Ghostworld is about a ghost who helps a young homicide detective solve crimes. In doing so, he hopes to discover clues to his own life and death. The script was originally written by Daniel Taplitz and What About Brian creator Dana Stevens is also now on board.

Although ABC passed on picking up the series after what Moses calls a “very last minute” cancellation by CBS, Moses is staying positive.

“We always want to keep telling stories because that’s what we are in our heart and our soul,” she says. “ABC and CBS have been incredibly supportive … and it’s important we do additional things.”

Preface
Okay, so why did I, an actress in her thirties, decide to write a book on dating? Well, leave it to Cabo Wabo! I had a massive broken heart, so I hopped on the plane with my mom, aunt, and a bunch of friends. We found ourselves at this beautiful home overlooking the ocean and like most meetings of the female brain, talking about men. I was so intrigued, the age groups, types of women, lifestyles were all so different, but the message was the same. Dating is hilarious and awkward as hell. Relationships are difficult, beautiful, and confusing. And love is somehow worth it all. It was like pen and paper had to be used at that moment, so I took all the things we were talking about and started writing. Of course, I added my own funny comments to them, because if you can’t laugh you won’t make it.

At dinner that night I presented my romance thought pages on the table, hoping to ease any past pain, laugh about the hours of life lost on bad dates, and show that we are all the same. They loved it (the tequila helped)! As I wrote them, healing began for me as well.

At the end of our great trip, I went home with a new thought. What if this is why I went through all my dating crap? Maybe I’m supposed to be the kindred spirit of millions of women out there who are just like me. And there it was, the new relationship that I would begin would be with me, my past, my present, my laughter, my pain, and most important, all of you.

This, for me, is the perfect place to start. Although I was actually born on February 21, there was a chance that I would come a week earlier, on February 14. That’s right, Valentine’s Day. I refused to believe until I was ten or eleven years old that Valentine’s Day was not actually created for me. Why? Because my name is Love! My mom named me Love and almost gave birth to me on Valentine’s Day. Hello? I was born to be a hopeless romantic. It’s worked well for me so far, or so I thought. And that brings us to now. This is the most eye-opening and slightly depressing part of the book, so let’s get it over with. What I am about to tell you will include shocking details, lies, and murder. Okay, here it goes. On a cold day, with a little rain falling on the windows (who am I, Agatha Christie?), in the most gorgeous light of the afternoon, I sat at my computer, wondering what I could say today that would have some real value to those of you kind enough to read this book. I decided to turn to my faithful friend Cupid for some help. You know, Cupid (said with little kid voice) — cute little guy, kind of like a baby and a man all in one. The little man in a diaper who finds us true love, shoots our dream man with an arrow, bring him to us, plays the violin, and helps us live happily ever after. That Cupid. (Back to my own voice.) What I found next would forever change me. What the hell to my Googling Cupid eyes should appear, but the TRUTH!

Cupid was actually a scorned lover. A person so hurt that he made poison arrows to shoot at people that would hopefully destroy their chance for love, because misery loves the company of a tiny man in diapers. He was an evil little s**t, not a cute baby with magic arrows waiting to point at our perfect companion and bring up love’s every happiness. Lock your doors. Cupid is not a good guy! Suddenly my love life flashed before my eyes: all the Valentine’s Days, the arrows I shot in my mind toward the dream guy in front of me, the hours I spent thinking Cupid would make it better. And for what? He was just as depressed and hurt as I was. And P.S. — he didn’t want to use his powers for good. It begs the thought — we saw a little man in a diaper shooting arrows and thought that meant true love?

After an hour of seriously doubting my stock in Hallmark, I knew exactly what I had to do. I HAD TO SHOOT CUPID! I had to believe in my mind that there could be romance without him. Maybe not the kind with symphonies and floating hearts (although that kind stabbed me in the back more than a few times), but something I could create with another person that could be all our own. Romantic comedies are there to give us dreams and butterflies, but what we can create in our own lives could be not only better but real.

So I did it! I SHOT HIM! This would always be … THE DAY I SHOT CUPID. I let my mind kill all its previous romantic ideas and believe what would come next would be greater.

As I write this, I am only two weeks into this “transformation.” I’m not gonna lie, I have had a few “everything is changing” panic attacks, but I also feel like I’m on the brink of real growth. I ask myself now what romance really is to me. What a man needs to do and what I would want to do for him. I am learning, and not depressed by the way, how to create my own fireworks and rapid heartbeat. I’m suddenly not as let down by everyday romantic screwups because the only thing to live up to is organic, from within, not a list of dos and don’ts given to me by romantic icons who aren’t real.

At first glance you may be thinking … Jaded? Bitter? Hurt too much? But let’s change those thoughts to something more productive, like Strong, Realistic, and Grown-Up. Let’s never again rely on someone or some myth to bring us happiness or love. Let’s try it ourselves. Let’s make our own paths and believe that what the universe has for us is perfect. Let’s go out and find the love we always wanted but this time with our feet planted on the ground, our inner sparkle as the arrows, and the belief that love does happen for all of us. By the way, if you see a man in diapers, keep walking!
